  3. DISAGREEMENTS BETWEEN LORDS 
  4. AND COMMONS
  5. With non-controversial Bills, the Commons usually 
  6. accepts the Lords' amendments. However, sometimes 
  7. the disagreement runs deeper, and the Commons then 
  8. sends the Bill back to the Lords, with an explanation. 
  9. The Bill may pass to and fro between the Houses for 
  10. some while before agreement is reached. If a compromise 
  11. could not be reached, the Commons would eventually get 
  12. their way by re-introducing the Bill the following year. In practice 
  13. the Lords do their best to avoid this delay by seeking a satisfactory solution.
